They are all shaped different and located in different locations but they should all have the manufacturer, model number and serial number located on the sticker. It will almost always be located on the outside of the unit, in other words you will not have to take any panels off to find it, and it will always be a weather proof sticker.

For all other brands of home air conditioning & heating systems that are not in the Carrier family please read the steps below
All brands are different on where they need to be registered but one thing is common. To qualify for your new home air conditioning and or heating equipment’s year 6-10 warranty you will need to register with the manufacturer within 90 days of installation. Without registration you will only get a 5 year parts warranty, which to be honest is not bad but that could easily be doubled.
First thing you need to do is go to google and type in the search bar what type of manufacturer air conditioning equipment you have. So for example if you have a Trane unit you would type in “Trane home air conditioning warranty registration” if you were to have a Rheem heater you would type in “Rheem home air conditioning warranty registration” these search terms will provide you with the links needed to bring you straight to the registration page of that manufacturer.
